D&C - Dilation and curettage

Definition:

The medical procedure doctors use to end a pregnancy after diagnosing a miscarriage. The procedure involves dilation of the cervix and then scraping or vacuuming of the uterine lining, usually on an outpatient basis with local or general anesthesia.
