No name for a miscarriage really feels quite right. Many women are offended by the medical term spontaneous abortion because of the word "abortion," but some are also bothered by "pregnancy loss" or even miscarriage because they feel the phrases imply that the mother somehow was careless and "lost" the pregnancy or didn't carry it correctly. So how do you feel about miscarriage terminology? Do you dislike the phrase "spontaneous abortion," or do you think the other phrases are no better? And what should we call a miscarriage?

I didn't miscarry her...she died

By definition alone, the word miscarriage blames the mother for her role in the loss of her child. It's simple, gestational death, uterine loss of life; there are a number of more suitable things we can call this loss. It is reprehensible that in this day and age, a baby dying is synonymous with mismanagement. http://www.Michelle25.com
