Definition:

The term recurrent miscarriage is used when a woman has three or more consecutive pregnancy losses. Recurrent miscarriages may or may not have a treatable underlying cause, but women who have two or more miscarriages in a row can see a doctor for a diagnostic testing workup. Possible causes might be anatomic issues such as abnormal uterine shape, hormonal imbalances, blood clotting disorders such as antiphospholipid syndrome or other factors.
