Natural Killer Cells

Definition:

Cells that play an important role in responding to infections and fighting tumors.

Although their name makes them sound ominous, natural killer cells are actually a normal part of the body's immune system.

Some researchers have found elevated levels of NK cells in women who've had recurrent miscarriages, but studies have found little evidence that elevated NK cells actually cause recurrent pregnancy loss.
