Definition:

A complete hydatidiform mole is the scarier of the two types of molar pregnancy; a complete molar pregnancy has higher odds of resulting in an invasive mole or in choriocarcinoma (a type of usually treatable cancer).

Complete hydatidiform moles usually result from the sperm fertilizing an "empty" egg that has no maternal DNA.
