Definition:
The state of loss. This term is often used interchangeably with grief, which is an appropriate use. Bereavement may also refer to the period of time during which people experience grief after a loss, particularly of a loved one.
This term is frequently seen in reference to support groups, i.e. Bereavement Support Group.
